About the event

"Fashion Odyssey" is an exhilarating platform designed to celebrate creativity, innovation, and individual expression through fashion. This competition invites students from various educational institutions to showcase their talent and unique perspectives on fashion design. With an open theme, participants are encouraged to delve into their imagination and present collections that reflect their personal style, cultural influences, and social consciousness.

Theme: The theme for this fashion show competition is intentionally left open-ended to allow participants the freedom to explore diverse concepts and interpretations. Whether drawing inspiration from nature, history, technology, emotions, or any other source, participants are encouraged to unleash their creativity and present collections that captivate and inspire.

Event Objectives

Encourage Creativity: Fashion Odyssey aims to inspire participants to push the boundaries of creativity and experimentation in fashion design.

Promote Diversity: By welcoming students from various backgrounds and disciplines, the competition fosters a rich tapestry of perspectives, styles, and cultural influences.

Provide Platform for Emerging Ta lent:Fashion Odyssey provides a launchpad for emerging designers to showcase their work and gain recognition within the fashion industry.

Foster Collaboration:The competition encourages collaboration among students, mentors, and industry professionals, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for creative exchange.

Competition Guidelines:

Eligibility: The competition is open to students currently enrolled in any domains of Higher education Institutions - University or Institutions / design schools / fashion-related programs/ Fashion societies or Fashion club at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Design Criteria:

Participants will showcase minimum 5 designs in the collection (Male / Female/ or both) Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, wearability, coherence with the theme, craftsmanship, and overall presentation.

Judging Criteria:

A panel of industry professionals, fashion designers, and faculty members will evaluate the entries based on the judging criteria.

• Relevance to the concept

• Innovation in Design

• Presentation skills on ramp

Fashion Show:

• The design entries will be featured in a live fashion show event, where participants along with their models will have the opportunity to showcase their creations on the runway in front of a live audience.

Model Selection:

• Participants can choose their models from fellow students or friends and family

• Encourage diversity in model selection to represent a wide range of styles and body types.

Accessories and Beauty Standards:

• Emphasize the importance of accessories that complement the summer theme.

• Use vibrant, summer-inspired makeup and hairstyles

Music and Atmosphere:

• Choose upbeat and summer-themed music to enhance the atmosphere..

Strict Guidelines:

• All the teams will get a maximum of 12 minutes to showcase their collection. So they have to prepare their ramp walk accordingly.

• Music system will be provided by us but students will get their own playlist in pendrives according to their theme and preparation.

• The participating team will give us the softcopy of presentation or video for the backdrop/projector which they want to play during their show when their models are walking on the ramp till 16th April at ankitanarula.sod@mriu.edu.in

Students will be getting their own models, makeup, accessories and costumes.

Prizes:

• 1st Prize: Rs. 25,000/-  for team + Certificates for all participants

• 2nd Prize: Rs. 15,000/- for team + Certificates for all participants 

• Best male model: 1000/- + Certificate 

• Best Female Model: 1000/- + Certificate
