"RePurpose" is a unique competition aimed at celebrating creativity, sustainability, and innovation in fashion / Product / Interior design. The competition challenges participants to transform discarded materials into stunning accessories or designer bags. By promoting the concept of upcycling and recycling, RePurpose aims to raise awareness about sustainable fashion & design practices and encourage the reuse of materials in the Design industry.
The primary objective of RePurpose is to inspire designers, artists, and fashion enthusiasts to rethink their approach to Accessory, product & fashion design by showcasing the beauty and potential of recycled materials
1. The challenge is to display the Final product designed out of waste.
2. Participants should use 80% of recycled / re-use / waste materials.
3. The submission will be in the form of a real product with the display of the various stages in picture presentation.
Concept - 30 points
Innovation & creativity - 30 points
Final Product - 40 points
Only for school students of grade 6 - 12
Participation can be individually as well as in a team of maximum of 4 members.s
Students should be in school uniform and should carry ID cards on the day of the competition.
Participant’s model and presentation should stick to the specifications as well as rules & regulations given.
Participants must use predominantly recycled or repurposed materials in their designs. These materials may include but are not limited to fabric scraps, plastic bottles, old denim, old torn bags, paper, metal, wood, etc. & design a new accessory/product or bag.
For Best out of Waste Accessory: Participants are challenged to create unique accessories such as showpieces, Lamps jewelry, furniture or any useful product using recycled materials..
For Best out of waste Recycled Designer Bag: Participants are tasked with designing and creating innovative handbags or backpacks using recycled materials
Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, functionality, and adherence to sustainable design principles.
A panel of fashion experts, designers, and sustainability advocates will evaluate the entries based on the judging criteria.
